A Setmore alternative for people who sell their time.
Setmore is a familiar free appointment book for local services. BookMyTime is for the same 'pick a time' job, with payments, per-slot prices and calendar sync treated as the product rather than the extras.

Where they overlap
Product details below were reviewed in October 2026. Competitors change their plans. Check their pricing page before you buy, and check ours. Both give a customer a page of open times. Both can remind people. Both can sit on a small-business website. If you already run Setmore and your staff know it, that operational familiarity is worth money. Do not switch because a comparison page told you to.
Switch, or start on BookMyTime, when the pain is specific: you want to be paid before the slot is held, you want evenings priced differently, or you need Google, Outlook and iCloud checked together. Those are payments and calendar sync.
Local services versus a personal practice
Setmore has long marketed itself to salons, consultants and local studios, including a free tier that gets a single location started. Salons and personal trainers should look at whether they need class seats, deposits and paid sessions (BookMyTime) or a broader small-business toolkit (Setmore or Acuity).
A solo tutor or consultant usually does not need a staff rota product. They need a link that respects the calendar they already have.
What 'free' includes
BookMyTime Free includes a booking page, one calendar, one event type of up to 30 minutes, email reminders and Stripe payments. Per-slot pricing and six calendars are Pro, at $12 a month. SMS and a custom domain are Premium, at $49. Team scheduling is Business, at $15 per seat. See pricing.
Setmore's free plan has its own limits, which change. Read their pricing page on the day you decide. 'Free' from either company is a way to start, not a promise that every channel and every staff seat stays free.
How to move without a messy week
Create the BookMyTime types that match your services. Connect the calendar Setmore was already reading. Embed the widget where the old button was. Tell existing clients the new link in the reminder you were going to send anyway.
Do not promise customers that history moved. Past appointments stay in the old tool. New ones start clean. That is a better story than a half-import.
