An Acuity alternative when you sell time, not a shop.

Acuity Scheduling, part of Squarespace, is built for businesses that live in appointments: classes, packages, intake and a client list. BookMyTime is the lighter page for people whose product is the hour itself.

They are not the same category, even though both book time

Product details below were reviewed in October 2026. Competitors change their plans. Check their pricing page before you buy, and check ours. Acuity is at its best when you need a client database, packages, classes, intake forms and a tight relationship with a Squarespace site. Many salons, studios and clinics are right to stay.

BookMyTime is at its best when you need a link, calendar sync across Google, Outlook and iCloud, and payment at booking, including a price that changes by slot. It is not a point of sale and it does not try to be your client CRM.

Stay on Acuity if these are the job

You sell memberships, retail, or a class timetable that is the business. You want Squarespace to be the system the front desk already knows. You need a deep client record inside the scheduler. None of that is a reason to migrate for the sake of a new booking link.

Salons and personal trainers who need deposits, seats and a calendar they already use should try BookMyTime before assuming they need a suite.

Move, or start here, if these are the job

You are a lawyer, accountant or consultant. You are a coach with two or three session types. You are a personal trainer selling sessions, packs and peak-hour slots. You want per-slot pricing more than you want a client directory. You want the page embedded, not a second website.

Therapists should be careful either way: neither product is a clinical record. Pick the one with the calmer booking flow and the cancellation rule you can enforce.

A practical comparison, not a winner

Compare the live Acuity price for the features you use with BookMyTime's Free plan, and with Pro once a price is published. If Acuity is already running your front desk, the switching cost is the client history, not the embed code.

If you are starting from nothing, publish a BookMyTime page this week and only adopt a heavier tool when you hit a feature BookMyTime does not have. The getting started guide is the short path.

FAQ

Questions about this

Can't find yours? Visit the help center or talk to us.

Can BookMyTime replace Acuity for a salon?

Only if you need booking, deposits and classes. If you need retail, memberships and a full client record, Acuity or a salon POS is the closer fit.

Can I embed BookMyTime on Squarespace?

Yes, if the page allows a custom embed. The booking widget is a snippet, not a native Squarespace app.

Does BookMyTime import Acuity clients?

No. Import covers event types. Client history stays in Acuity unless you export it yourself for your own records.

Which is cheaper?

BookMyTime's Free plan is $0. Acuity's current price is on Squarespace's site. Compare the plan that includes the features you will use.
