Calendly Alternative in 2026: What to Compare Before You Switch

A practical comparison of Calendly and BookMyTime for people who sell their time. Payments, meeting types, calendars and team scheduling — without invented benchmarks.

People look for a Calendly alternative for a specific reason, not because they enjoy migrating links. Usually the reason is money: the meeting is something they sell, and the scheduler they use treats payment as a higher tier. Sometimes the reason is a team that has outgrown a folder of personal links. This article is the decision, written without fake customer counts or a percentage nobody can audit.

The shorter version lives on the BookMyTime vs Calendly page. Read that if you want the table. Read this if you want the order of operations for switching.

What you are actually replacing

Calendly made the scheduling link normal. Connect a calendar, share a URL, stop asking "when are you free?" That job is solved. If your meetings are internal, free, and already working, switching tools is a chore with little payoff. Stay.

Switching is worth the afternoon when one of these is true:

  • You charge for the time, and you want the slot confirmed only after payment. That flow is paid appointments.
  • You offer more than one kind of meeting — a short intro and a paid working session — and you do not want a plan limit on meeting types.
  • Your real availability lives in more than one calendar, including iCloud. See calendar sync.
  • A team should share one link. That is team scheduling, and for demos specifically sales teams.

Payments are the useful difference

A scheduling link that cannot take money leaves you with a second tool: an invoice, a payment link, a hope. BookMyTime's Free plan connects Stripe or PayPal. The guest pays at checkout. If payment fails, the slot is not held. Receipts use the tax details you enter.

Per-slot pricing — a higher price for evenings, or for a 90-minute version of the same session — is a Pro feature, along with deposits. Pro is $12 a month. The pricing page lists Free, Starter, Pro, Premium and Business. Calendly's current payment gating is on Calendly's own pricing page. Check it the week you decide. Do not trust a blog, including this one, to quote a competitor's live price.

If you only need a free internal scheduling link and you will never charge, payment support is not a reason to move.

Teams, without a made-up drop-off rate

A common complaint about individual scheduling links is that the buyer has to pick a person before they pick a time. Round-robin reverses that: show the times the team is free, assign a host, write one calendar event. Collective meetings do the opposite on purpose, and only offer times when every required person is free. Recruiters use that for panels. Sales teams use round-robin for first demos.

Those features sit on the BookMyTime Business plan, at $15 per seat. A solo coach or creator does not need them. Do not buy a team plan to solve a one-person problem, and do not believe a case study that names a company we did not work with. Earlier versions of this article did that. They were wrong, and they are gone.

How to switch without breaking the week

  1. Create a BookMyTime account and connect the calendar Calendly was already reading. The getting started guide is the short path.
  2. Import event types, then open each one. Fix the duration, the questions, and the price. Import does not know which meetings you meant to charge for.
  3. Book a test from a personal email. Confirm the event landed on the right calendar and, if it is paid, that checkout blocked the slot until payment succeeded.
  4. Replace links you control: signature, website embed, bio. Leave the old links up until the new ones have taken a real booking. BookMyTime cannot redirect a Calendly URL.

Give a solo setup an hour. Give a team a pilot with one pod. Historical bookings do not move. Say that to anyone who asks, rather than implying the archive came with you.

What else is worth comparing

Calendly is not the only adjacent product. Cal.com matters if you want to self-host. Acuity and Setmore matter if you run a service business with a front desk. Topmate matters if your audience already books paid creator calls there. The wider buying guide is how to choose appointment software in 2026.
